Guitar Hero: World Tour

Here are my boys rocking out and playing Guitar Hero: World Tour (I did vocals on a couple songs--Los Lobos, 311, Linkin Park, Sweet Home Alabama, etc.).

Pirate Costume

O.K., so maybe I'm a little too organized--I bought a Captain Hook costume for Michael to wear this Halloween back when they were on sale (paid $5, if you try to buy the same costume now it is $39.50--yikes!). It is a size 3 and since he's had a growth spurt, I thought I'd better have him try it on in case I have to go back and buy another costume.

It fits...just barely. Hopefully, it'll last another 45 days! Now I just have to buy him a new hook (our puppy Chip chewed on it) and make sure he wears the pirate hat instead of the cowboy one!



Tomorrow we're finally going to go to Pirate Island Pizza in Orem--we wanted to take Michael there in May for his birthday but it wasn't open yet.

Trip to the Zoo

Today the four of us (Jeremy, Michael, Carl and I) took a trip up to Hogle Zoo. We got there at 9:30 so it was nice and cool plus not too crowded when the day started. Radio Disney was also there as part of a Safety Safari--Michael got some magnets, stickers, coloring books and crayons from some of the booths (the dairy commission even gave out string cheese and American Family Insurance gave out animal crackers).

We got to see the new baby elephant and pictures of the new baby tigers (they were not out to be viewed by the public today). Our visit was about 2 1/2 hours--we played over at Discovery Zone, visited the gift shop and did the Safety Safari to finish out the day. For lunch, we had Domino's pizza--yum!

First Day of Preschool: September 8, 2009

Today was Michael's first day of preschool--he was way excited to go because he'll be attending Little "Gray" Elephant Preschool that is run by Grandma AND his cousin Jocelyn is in his class. Today, they learned an indian song, played hide and seek, colored and learned about the September calendar, got his first task card and Michael drew an apple. He is so excited to learn this year. Now if only kids could be this excited about school every year!

Playing in the Pool

We bought Michael a new pool this year--his old, inflatable one had a leak somewhere and the tree canopy that was supposed to provide shade was always lopped off to the side due to lack of air. This one also has a canopy since we don't have any big shade trees in our yard. He loves it. Too bad it's too small to practice what he learned in swimming lessons!

Jr. Knight Owlz Final Game: September 1

Tuesday, September 1 was the last Kids Club night for Michael to get in free--we were in luck because our neighbors, the Healey's were also there with the young single adult ward they serve in. They hooked us up with free tickets to the game plus free hot dogs and drinks (since Michael won't eat hot dogs we upgraded him to a chicken strips meal).

All in all, we only went to 3 Kid's Club nights (out of 5) and have 6 voucher tickets left over (we bought 10, 2 for each Kid's Club night for us since Michael was free those nights). They have made the playoffs and end the regular season on September 9, so perhaps we can catch two more games since we've already paid for them (although we got them at a discount--$5.50 per ticket instead of $7). His Kid's Club membership was $12 for 5 games, a hat and a baseball clinic--not too shabby.

Pacific States Playground

O.K., so although Michael likes to watch the Owlz games his favorite part is going over to the Pacific States Playground and playing on all the slides and stuff. Here are some pics from the Owlz games where he had to run over and visit.



They have a cool looking dinosaur fossil imprint on the back of one of the slides--this pic came out a little fuzzy but still neat.
