So, Michael has a girlfriend. Apparently, they have known each other since preschool but it took being put in the same kindergarten class for their friendship to blossom.
When we went to parent-teacher conferences, his teacher Mrs. Paxman informed us that he talks too much in class particularly to her as they sit near each other (she even knew about their preschool connection).
Michael tells me that they play together at recess and hold hands and go find her friend from another class.
He was really excited and happy in October when he received an invitation to her birthday party. She invited a lot of their classmates both boys and girls so it was a fun time.
I met her on their field trip to Hee Haw farms and she was a very sweet and talkative little girl.
Last week he came home with a blue pearl--he said that she gave it to him and asked him to fix it. Well, him and dad turned it into a dream catcher and he wrote, "Luv Michael" on a piece of paper. After receiving his "present" she gave him a rock. This is not just any rock--it is two pieces that fit together.
They have quite the cute little conversations. Michael was telling me that she said that they will be friends even if they go to different colleges. He said that he wants to be a chef at Red Lobster/play arena football and she wants to be a dancer. He also said that he told her to be a cheerleader and that she will be a cheerleader forever and ever and he'll be a football player.
Then on the last day of school before Thanksgiving break, he brought home an envelope that said "to Michael, BFF" that had her phone number on it and a picture of the two of them that she colored inside that also had her phone number written on it.
It is so fun to see Michael grow up and make so many new friends now that he's in kindergarten. He is such a sweet, kind, caring boy. We'll have to see what the future brings...
