Jennie

So Jennie decided to come into the world on her own terms. Her due date was September 20 and we had a scheduled c-section on September 13 but she decided to come on September 11.

That morning we went to my last twice weekly appointment with the perinatologist for another non-stress test. When they went to measure my AFI (amniotic fluid) they found that I was only at a 4 (anything below a 5 is not good apparently; they like me to be between an 8 and 10). They called my doctor and he said to go ahead and get a c-section scheduled that day. They asked me when I last ate and I told them 9:30 a.m. so they sent me home with orders not to eat or drink anything and to be back at 3:30 for a 5 p.m. c-section. We hurried and packed, got Michael out of school and dropped the kids off at Grandma's (so much for the plans to get the house ready for her arrival!).

She now gets to share a birthday with her Uncle Carl. As a fun fact she is the only one of our kids to NOT be born on a Sunday (and of course none of those were planned). I guess as a Tuesday's child that makes her "full of grace".

Here are her stats:

Born: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 5:27 p.m.
Weight: 6 lbs. 13 oz.
(I was in shock as our ultrasound measured her at about 7 lbs. 7 oz. give or take a pound--this made her bigger at birth than Kimberlee and smaller than each of the boys)
Height: 17 inches

And now for the pictures....

The gestational diabetes appears to have had no adverse effects on her as she was not hypoglycemic like Kaden and didn't need level 2 care. She also didn't have breathing problems like Kimberlee who spent 1.5 weeks in the NICU in Provo.

Since I also had a tubal ligation and she is my last I am going to try and enjoy her as much as I can.
