For the last three years our home (which is on a corner lot) has been the location of the middle school (7-9th grade) bus stop for our neighborhood. Due to improvements in the area (sidewalk and a light with school pedestrian crossing at Main Street) plus the fact that the stop is too close to the school to receive state funding it was eliminated effective the end of the school year.
As a small gesture to the bus driver for our neighborhood the kids and I decided to do some chalk drawings on the sidewalk she'd see when she loaded/unloaded kids. She was really nice to the kids and brought them doughnuts the second to last day. I know she'll really miss transporting them.
